The illustrated album of Armenian costumes (1942–1952) created by artist Gevorg Brutyan is the first work of its kind. The album presents Armenian costumes used from the time of Tigran the Great to the mid-20th century, according to different provinces and classes.

When creating the album, Brutyan used archaeological, miniature, historiographical and other scientific sources, sculptures, museum specimens and paintings.

The 1st section includes historical costumes in chronological order, the 2nd section includes ethnographic costumes, and the 3rd section includes the costumes of Armenian statesmen, military figures, officials, merchants who have reached high positions in different countries, as well as the ceremonial attire of high-ranking clergy.
